Artist's Description

Image stacking is a method of achieving good depth of field by taking multiple images of the same object.
I decided keeping as much control of the session was important so I chose to take the images inside.
Using my Canon equipment, which included 7D body, 100 mm 2.8 L Macro Lens and a EX580 II flash.
Because I have no intentions of killing insects just for my photographic hobby I searched the garden for a suitable subject. It didn’t take long to find a deceased insect.
The camera settings were; ISO 100 – F6.3 @ 1/60.
The flash was set to Manual; Output 1/8 with no diffusion.
I took 50 images using the program “DSLRRemotePro” which changed the focus ring automatically after each shot.
Processed these RAW images in “Photoshop CS5” than combined the resulting 16 Bit files using “ZereneStacker”
