Success: The Things You Own Begin To Own You

What will you do when your life is perfect? When all the things that you ever wanted are things that you already have? Its a terrifying thought. What then? In our society we’re indoctrinated with this need for more. John D. Rockefeller, arguably the riches man in history (adjusted net worth: $200 Billion) was once asked “how much much money is enough?” he answered: “Just a little bit more.” Read the quote below, it applies.

“Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don’t need. We’re the middle children of history. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War’s a spiritual war… our Great Depression is our lives. We’ve all been raised on television to believe that one day we’d all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars.” – Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden, Fight Club

But even if it all comes true, I’m a firm believer that if you’re not happy without it, its not going to make a difference when you do have it.
