Artist's Description

There’s a special and heartbreaking story behind our images. The phrase “I want to be CURED, not managed” was coined by the late volunteer team member of Crohn’s MAP Vaccine, friend and graphic designer Joanna Cardwell-Fox. For two years Joanna created many wonderfully clever images and diagrams for the cause. A Crohn’s sufferer herself for around 30 years, she was fed up with the inevitable side effects of taking medications for decades.

She wanted but one thing, to be cured, not managed, and she let us know it. Her simple desire is that of all Crohn’s sufferers.

Some of the team members loved her phrase so much they asked her to make profile pics for everyone to use at their whim. Many of us have “worn them” as Facebook profile pics … they have been a voice for our hope in ending this scourge called Crohn’s. Devastatingly, Joanna did not live to see the cure she so desperately wanted.

No matter which image you choose to purchase, we are sure that all of you have the same desire that our dear Joanna had…… we “want Crohn’s to be CURED, not managed”.

This image was originally created by Joanna Cardwell-Fox and has been rearranged and recoloured by Wendy Easton.

100% of profits made are going to Crohn’s MAP Vaccine.
