Waiting at the Station

I gave you my all and you threw it away.

Watched you morph before my eyes in your selfish ways.

A change for the worse from a beautiful being.

Now a shadow of yourself, dark, with no meaning.

I sift through the ashes of memories now twisted.

The only evidence left to prove you once existed.

You’re gifted in your ways to make the love fade away.

So I turn myself away and hide my eyes from the pain.

Punch my ticket off this train, the next one I’ll be on.

I’m leaving you this evening, so tomorrow I’m gone.
