Poem for a Lover

As I spend my time in words and rhyme trying to define you, I remember trials; rewards and smiles that helped me realize you.

As each day dawns, I stretch and yawn, then turn my head to see you. In the morning light, this beautiful sight lets me know how much I need you.

As your lilting words and goddess curves stir my need to touch you, that open face and humble grace assures me I can trust you.

As your mercurial eyes rival the sky that glows so high above you, smile my dear and have no fear for you must surely know I love you.
