Dedicated to those who did not return “Lest We Forget”

One of the mainsprings of an army is it’s espirit-de-corps, which gives a soldier purpose and endurance to carry on when others might give up.
The prolonged and bitter struggles of World War 1 and World War 2, the soldiers of the 1st and 2nd AIF (Australian Infantry Forces) had this espirit-de-corps and it’s focal point was it’s humble badge. This so called Rising Sun Badge worn on the upturned brim of a slouch hat typified the spirit of ANZAC, the camaradarie of the soldiers to fight for the crown and the British Empire.
