For whom the bell tolls

The bells ring loud
Through the streets
Out into the countryside
The Prince his waiting ended
The Bride her preparation complete
Love has brought them to this place
To this day of celebration
The Prince had pursued his bride through death
The Bride has come to give her all

All through the town the bells are heard
People gather in wonder
Of their Prince in all his Royalty
And his bride in all her splendor

Why would this Royal man marry one so common
Many had come from lands afar
To win the heart of this heir
Yet his affection remained true
Not driven by a lust for more
But attracted by a simple purity

He never did see the broken, soiled little girl
In her eyes he was able to see beyond
Beyond his crown, beyond her stature
He was able to envision her coming down the slate isle
All dressed in white
Able to see past who she was
Looking to the beauty she possesses this day

And now they run together
From the Church, away from the adoring crowds
Out into the country
To enjoy the intimacy of their love
No crowns, no stature, no wealth, no shame
Only a love; pure, strong and true
Your Prince he waits for you

For whom the bell tolls
