Artist's Description

This is the River Duddon as it flows through the valley named after it, in the Lake District in Cumbria.
At this point, the river seems to tumble over these boulders and mini falls, while moving sand and gravel banks form and edge the river deeper into the banks which erode.

You are left with trees hanging on before their roots are washed away and they die or are sent crashing into the river during the floods.

This was taken while rain was falling through the low lying fog.
