Artist's Description

Wildflowers in Dufferin County, Ontario standing tall in the meadow, Queen Anne’s Lace dominating the others. This is a mixed media painting on 22 × 28 inch canvas by Claire Bull.

Fun and colorful, I painted this from my memory of the meadow at my old house. We had flowers everywhere, lots of Queen Anne’s Lace but also
Daisies and Bee Balm and Buttercups – lots of tall grasses and you could run through them all and Milkweed bits would flutter about and the butterflies would spring up and about… I found it quite magical.

I called it “Stand Tall” because the flowers would grow and stand tall despite the weather and we really did not tend the meadow. We let it go, and all of these wonderful flowers just grew tall and proud and free.
