For anyone living along the coast (or even just visiting for that matter) these big chairs are familiar sights — lifeguard stations dot the beaches along every coast, and have come to be a very distinct symbol of summer.
Here, the lifeguards on Ongunquit Beach had already gone off duty for the day, but I was able to catch a picture of this wooden sentinel as the sun set behind the dunes.
