Rocky Gorge, Kancamangus River, White Mountain National Forest, Conway, NH — Taken December 2007
This photo to me shows a quintessential Northeast winter – snow drifted and blanketing the world, and the world pushing it’s way through regardless – like the river as it cut itself through the granite to make the gorge over the course of centuries, and wouldn’t slow despite the sub-zero temperatures.
I chose black and white for this image, because this seemed like a timeless moment, and I felt the black and white helped to draw attention to the contrast between the snow and everything it touched.
Taken with Sony Cybershot DSC-H9.
