The Valley Isle

Once I visited The Valley Isle
On a magic carpet I flew
Not knowing what was waiting
Beyond the ocean blue.

I was held in awe by her beauty
Mesmerized by her grace and style
Her land flowed like poetry
This place, The Valley Isle.

Magnificent palm trees adorned her
Rain forest lush and green
Rolling velvet mountains
Rose above the ocean scene.

On The Valley Isle I once roamed
And frolicked in her aqua seas
Far from my native home
She embraced me with her gentle breeze.

Her voices, not for all to hear
Softly whispered to me
Enchantingly and inviting
Linger for a while, if you please.

This Valley Isle called Maui
Left me feeling quite serene
Touching my soul in many ways
To the very depths of my being.

Aloha and Mahalo
To Maui, The Valley Isle
Just the memory of her
Will forever beget a smile.

My sister and I vacationed in Maui April of 2004. This island touched me so that when I arrived home I was inspired to write this.
