Daddy's Little Girl...

From the minute that the doctor laid me gently in your hands…I was yours.
Mom named me Anna Lee…yet you called me “Honey Bear”…I was yours.
You helped to change my diapers and to give me cleansing baths…I was yours.
You’d gladly lie beside me as I toddled on the floors…I was yours.
When I smashed my mom’s big toe with the butt of a toy gun…I was yours…
Though it hurt her and she cried…you came running to my side…I was yours.
I love mom with all my heart, but as my sweet daddy you played that part…I was yours.
Through the years as we grew, I could always count on you…I was yours.
As a beautiful teen girl getting ready for first dates…I was yours.
They were never good enough for your little princess dove…I was yours.
When my first marriage fell apart and he had broken my heart…I was yours.
My white knight on a steed, you were ready to stampede…I was yours.
Then my soul mate came along and filled my heart with a new sweet song…I was still yours.
Fathers and daughters special bond is forever…never gone, Daddy’s little Girl…I am yours.
