The historic Port of Echuca on the banks of the Murray River and was included in the National Heritage List on 26 April 2007. It is home to Australia’s largest river boat fleet of paddlesteamers. Built in 1815 by the Victorian Railway, the Echuca Wharf was vital to the town’s development and at its peak in 1890, it turned over 240 paddlesteamers.
