Snug Cove is the Port of Eden and is third deepest natural harbour in the southern hemisphere, Development of the port commenced in 1862, with a major expansion in 1987. It consists of a 330 m long attached breakwater protecting its southern entrance, two 100 m long jetties, and a smaller northern groyne sheltering the boat ramp. Curving for 100 m west of the boat ramp groyne is Sung Cove beach, which faces south into the cove. Mount Imlay can be seen in the distance.
