The Face of Your Protests

I am the “L” in LGBT
I am the Black Sheep of conservative Christianity
I am sitting in your pews, I am sitting in your desks
I am on the receiving end of both sides of your protests

I follow Christ with all my heart
And yet you wave signs that try to tear us apart
Do you think the side of the road is the right place for this conversation?
Do you think my lost LGBT brothers and sisters will find God within your street side condemnation?

I believe in a God of Love and a God that always wins
I believe in a cross that paid the price of all sins
I believe in a future where church is the safest place to be
I believe in a future where my beliefs don’t make me any less a part of the LGBT community
I believe in hope for all of us- straight or gay
I believe in love from Christ that no human can take away

Artist's Description

I guess this would be my response to the Christians who protest against the LGBT Community. I’m not saying everyone has to support us or say that we are right, I’m just saying that the approach of holding crude signs is not the right one. I am confident that Jesus would not call me a “fag” or tell me that He hates me.
