Artist's Description

© C J Lewis. A photograph of tree trunk was the inspiration, and base, for the subject matter. I used PhotoPlus6 for air-brushing, cropping, smudging, colouring & sizing. I use the mouse with the smudge tool to move the colours around and into the shapes desired as I don’t have a Wacom tablet.

Also available as a Card

This has also now been hand painted with acrylics on board 12″ × 24″ and was on exhibition at the Tap Gallery, 45 Burton St, Darlinghurst, NSW from 9th – 20th March, 2009 as part of the Now Here’s My Darkside Exhibition.

The original hand paintings is also for sale – for enquiries please "contact me":

Part of the Nature Characters Series

Are you being haunted? Maybe it’s just YOU haunting yourself from your past actions – © C J Lewis, 2009.

The extract below by Dr. M. Scott Peck in his book Further Along The Road Less Travelled (Part One, Chapter 4, The Taste For Mystery, Section: Mystery and The Spiritual Journey, Page 82/83) having paraphrased the anonymous 17th century Scottish prayer of;

‘From ghoulies and ghosties
And long-leggedy beasties
And things that go bump in the night,
May the good Lord deliver us’.

To Dr Peck’s version paraphrased from the above;

‘From the ghoulies of our un-understood feelings and misunderstood hostilities,
From the ghosties of our outworn ideas to which we cling and the illusions of our wisdom and competence,
From the long-leggedy beasties of our ignorance and prejudices and self-satisfaction,
And from all the things that we don’t even know enough about to be afraid of that exist in the mysterious night beyond our limited sight,
May the good Lord deliver us – you, me, and the whole of our struggling infant humanity’.

This photograph below is the original photograph I looked into and used to create what I saw within it … this art work. There were 3 artworks created from inspiration from this one photograph…the other two are Common Sense Calling and Man’s Best Friend.
