Artist's Description

Looking down at the Broken Hill mine. This was taken at sunrise looking away from the sunrise to see how the light highlighted the gorgeous colours in the mine. The truck looks like a little matchbox car but is actually one of those maxi oversized trucks.

Broken Hill is where it began for BHP (Broken Hill Propriety Company Limited) in 1885, when the company began mining the massive ore body containing the world’s richest source of silver, lead and zinc. To date, the seam of Broken Hill has yielded 300 million metric tons of ore.
