Goodbye Muse

Goodbye Muse

I don’t know if to cry or sigh
But as to poems- the ink well’s dry
The muse who lead me a merry dance
Has left & given me just one chance

To bid adieu to all who read
I must dismount this glorious steed
I loved the ride, the words, the rhyme
I have had a glorious time

The ideas came so rapid- fire
They met & quenched my mind’s desire
But time is done as time will do
I now say good bye to you

Until we few will meet again
To share laughter, hope & pain
The quirky nature of life’s path
And paradoxes’ aftermath

Artist's Description

I spoke to a poet recently who had lost his desire & motivation to write. I wonder what it would feel like as I have personally experienced the most artistically creative outpourings of my life over the last year.
This is my interpretation of what it would feel like to write my last poem.
