Project by Jose M Heredia

From a weak, corrupt and vain world
I did not appreciate the fastidious calm,
Loved since my tormentuous infancy
Women, war, and the Ocean.
The Ocean! Who has felt its strong pulse disturbed?
When dancing among the agitated waves,
Could he forget it? If despotism overwhelms the world
With its strict scepter, the sea will be my asylum.
Over its abyss of noble pride and filled with revenge,
My sails will unfold to the vain air,
Will give one more corsair to the Ocean,
One more pilgrim to its deep heart.

And why not? When the slave ground wilted and devoured
By the impure breath of war, bending the yoke to
The tamed cervix negates to courage asylum,
I in the fields of the deep archipelago
I will make war to the fierce despotism.
Free and proud in the submissive world.
From the bloody and crowned oppression
I am not afraid of hate, nor of the beseeched favor.

My red pavilion will be my scepter
And my kingdom, my covered army.
When the hated aristocrats,
Vampires of my fatherland cruel.
Wanted to temper its relaxed nerves for drunken joys,
In the genial air of the Ocean, over them I will extend my
Angry hand, like a ferocious eagle over its prey.
They will suffer servility without struggle,
And opulent rescued my courageous companion will part.

Under the barbarous yoke that imposes to the
Equality invocated: dressed with the rough
Dark red of sailors, they will serve cowards and
Will be abated. I will put my plants on its ferocious beast,
My anger will tremble, and nor to fix will dare
My eyes over its pale and severe forehead.
