Artist's Description

Part I

From where you came it mattered not
Only that you came, I was prisoner
Of that godforsaken wilderness
Roaming the desert and tripping over
my own thoughts with only wind and
scorpions for company.

Discordant breezes in the air
I sang to you a tune so true
Of love and light and no dispair.
My love, you said, is as big as the sky.

Mayhaps I welcome their stings
Mayhaps not, but regardless pain
is a worthwhile anaesthetic
for loneliness
and for a I wandered numbly
tempted by the serpents stapled to
my head for eternity.

You were there unafraid to look
Though I warned you and hid my face
from your gaze. Not worthy, not worthwhile
and all the time the nighting gale’s lonely
song swept over us and i was overwhelmed by
my need for you.

Discordant breezes in the air
I sang to you a tune so true
Of love and light and no dispair.
My love, you said, is as big as the sky.

By the spiderweb light of the moon
you found me, and there in the almost dark
you could not see my face and we
lay together on the desert’s bed.
The warm rough sand cushioned us and
we were able to pretend normalacy
as long as the the moon
was tearcovered.

You knew where I was, you said,
you only had to look up.
My love, you said, is as big as the sky.
And will guide you home
when it is time.
