Artist's Description

This acrylic painting shows a close-up of Craig Creek in the Jefferson National Forest in Virginia. I have camped here by the stream many times, and each time the same part of this creek looks so very different! I am always fascinated by the energy of moving water and its ability to carve new patterns in the earth. This creek is full of trout, and the rocks are full of 400 million year old fossils which are often at the surface of the rocks due to the action of the water.
