Artist's Description

This is a portrait of a dear friend’s father. Like so many African men born in America he served the US military to fight the fascist ideals and hegemony advanced by Hilter’s brand of white supremacy only to retun “home” after WW II to face a nation that denied him his basic human and civil rights.

I have taken artistic license to create an image of Africa in his miltary cap in the area of the pineal gland to suggest a spiritual-political consciousness. of allegience to Mother Africa.

18×24 Graphite Pencil on Off-white Archival Paper. Sold.
