Artist's Description

This painting is of the U. S. Coast Guard Cutter Ingham as she appeared in the l960’s on patrol in the stormy Bearing Sea. This class of 327’ Secretary Class cutters were operated by the Coast Guard from the 1930’s through the late l980’s. They saw combat in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. During peacetime they carried out search and rescue missions, enforced all fisheries and maritime laws, and were highly successful in drug interdiction. All of these type vessels have been decommissioned.
