the soundtrack of a life

He plucked away at the strings of his guitar, at first because he had nothing better to do. He started with a scale, sure enough the scale turned into song. The notes went high, light, and breezy like his childhood. Soon the tune grew more complex, and he remembered his teen years; this gave way to a set pattern, beautiful but monotonous, and he recalled the years of his first marriage. They began to slow, and became melancholy very much like the period after; but he soon found his rhythm again. This rhythm carried for a few minutes, much longer than any other part of this song of his. The rhythm brought him back to his current surroundings. The song wasn’t finished yet, but he didn’t dread the day it would complete itself, because he now realized, in the end, we are all beautiful melodies.

Artist's Description

I feel like life is jsut easier to put into perspective if we put it on the strings of a guitar, but jsut ‘cause it’s easier doesn’t make it untrue…
