I’ve been visiting my local botanical garden for about six years and had somehow never seen anything but pink or light purple tree dahlias. On one visit I was surprised to see white tree dahlia double blooms WAY above my head. They were so pretty in the morning sun, but I had to pull out my telephoto zoom to show any detail. The background is a mix of blue sky and blurred bare tree trunks (no manipulation). (Olympus E-5 & Zuiko 70-300mm zoom at 86mm, f/5, 1/320 sec., ISO 200, morning sun, handheld)
A snapshot of the tree. To give you a sense of scale, the background building is a garage or storage building about 12 feet (3.66 meters) tall. The closest flowers to the ground (on the right) are about 12 feet up!
