Sales both "real" and "virtual"!

Of course all sales are real if you earn some money from them, but the contrast in my title is about physical sales (tonight’s holiday shopping boutique at my local botanical garden) compared to online sales here at RedBubble. Somehow it all overlapped, as I had the most delightful experience of meeting a fellow RedBubbler (Megan Martin) and her mom tonight, quite a treat!…

Sales were good tonight, most especially for my calendar (ordered from/printed by RedBubble), which garnered many comments about the quality of the print reproduction and the luxurious, heavy paper. My greeting cards, also ordered from RedBubble, were a great attraction too and went home with a number of visitors.

Virtual sales of the online kind seem to vary a lot over time, but I am happy at this point with holiday sa

I would like to extend an invitation to anyone in Southern California to attend The Holiday Shopping Boutique at South Coast Botanic Garden (address details below) on Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. I will be there with my photographs on cards, calendars, prints, and some small stocking-stuffer items. I would like to share some recent good news with my RedBubble friends!…

First: A large selection of my photo greeting cards is now available at the newly remodeled gift shop at South Coast Botanic Garden (Rancho Palos Verdes, California). The goal of the shop is to feature local artists, and my many photographs taken in the garden fit that goal perfectly. On September 30 and October 1, 2011, the gift shop held a grand reopening with several of the featured local artists present to chat with customers. I spent some time there both days and enjoyed meeting visitors and also a few of my fellow artists.

Second: I received an Honorable Mention in the worldwide All Photography juried art competition, and my image (“Leaf geometry,” see below) appears in the All Photography Art Exhibition – Octo

Somehow I managed to favorite one of my own photos, a quite unintentional blunder. I wonder if I can remove that, as it looks so silly! I will blame my new state of still unfamiliar vision, as I had a cataract removed from my non-dominant eye yesterday. Today the doctor removed the left lens from my glasses (my left eye went from 20/50 vision to 20/20 – yea!), and the world looks a little strange for now.

Time to say "thanks"!

I joined RedBubble just 2-1/2 months ago, and it’s time I thanked everyone for the welcome, and for the appreciation of my work. This is a fun and nurturing place to be!

Thanks to KatMagic for encouraging me to join, to the anonymous person who was the first to purchase my work, a set of greeting cards of my graceful columbine, and to the members of the Gorgeous Flower Cards group, who voted my Morning in the garden as the top entry in the challenge, “Two Tone Rose Bud” — my very first win in a RedBubble group challenge!
