Artist's Description

A little spot in my wildflower garden, these may only look like just weeds, but in the fall they will be filled with the stunning blooms of the wide leaf …….Golden Rods.

“JUST A WEED, in a native wildflower garden”
The last golden light kisses the last of the Iris leaves, and young tender Golden Rod weeds.
As most all weeds do, the Golden Rod will soon blossom in its own golden robe.
All weeds are flowers, waiting to bloom.

From mid summer to late fall Golden Rod is a much needed food source for the migrating butterflies, and for flying creatures of many kinds. A well seasoned garden will have food for all 4 seasons, and you are guaranteed to have many visitors.

If you are a photographer, you will have many photo opportunities as well.

Some places in the garden the Golden Rod will be pulled as a weed (tossed into the mulch pile to become new rich soil) and in other choice places it is allowed to thrive. Gardening is all about balance, but I sure love working with the plants that nature has provided, and I look forward to the visitors that show up to take advantage of the garden.

What a beautiful verity is displayed in plants! From the lowly sprig of moss, to the majestic oak! Our eye glances from flower to flower, and whether we climb the steep mountain, descend into the valley, or seek the friendly shade of the woods. We everywhere find new beauties, all differing from one another!
