Ya gotta love Colorado’s snow ever present in the spring time as well………………Canon PowerShot S3 IS
Moma, and baby running for the mud pits around the edges of the ponds to eat the minerals near the bank.
Lucked out with this shot, this pair ran across the road right in front of us, and I was able to get off a few rounds. Hand held of course, trypods inside the truck just dosen’t cut it.
Taken at a favorite viewing area for the Big Horn Sheep that make their way down off the mountains each day to indulge in a bit of pud pie.
The rangers are there at all times, and no one is allowed to stop, or get out of their vehicles when they are present, or coming off the mountain, and crossing the road. So needless to say there were a lot of obsticles in the way to capture an image.
You can see behind the sheep, one of the ponds that is heavely used by the sheep.
The back ground image I shot early that morning on a not so succsessful attempt to view the sheep, and the sheep in this image, I actually shot while they were running across the road later that day.
Edited in GIMP 2 to compose the two together, as close as possible to the image I saw with my eyes, as they ran across the field to the pond just out of sight in this image.
I was not able to capture that image, our moving vehicle, my driver, the mirrors, and vehicles to shoot over the top of other cars driving in the opposite direction, just to name a few of all the things that can go wrong. :O)
Photography is all about being at the right place, at the right time, I was at the right place, just a very wrong, and crowded time.
I just had to re-create this little moment in time.
My first real attempt with a composite, so take it easy on me! :):)
Thanks to all that view, and comment.
all stock images are my own, as mentioned above….
