Baby Got it Under Control
My ex-boyfriend and I took a month and traveled through Chile, hiked in Patagonia, took a 15 hour bus ride over to Ushuaia, Argentina (the southern most point of South America), then took a Russian Icebreaker ship across the Drake Passage with 35 foot waves (I have photos to prove it) to Antarctica.
We would head ashore in Zodiac boats and on the way to shore one day we came across this baby Adélie penguin swacking for it’s mother. How it got up there? We were all scratching our heads.
If you read my story of the peacock you understand that I could care less about this pigeon (I mean penguin). “You gonna make Momma money!” I said and took a roll of slide film.
No, I still think of that penguin. I figure if he was smart enough to get up there (along the same lines of the genious who invented peanut butter) then he’s got to be smart enough to be able to slide down. I’m just glad I was there to witness it. I love penguins. They were the sole reason I went to Antarctica. I heard them calling for me.
