Artist's Description

Canon D40. Image taken in Goffs, California. An old historic route 66 railroad town. Not much remains but a historical society has refurbished the schoolhouse that in 2001 was placed on the national historic register. Donated land around the schoolhouse is like a museum and houses old equipment from railroad, mining and other desert happenings. This old buick was part of their collection of old vehicles that are slowly deteriorating under ther desert sun.

Buick advertising jingles in their 1920s advertising:

“When Better Automobiles Are Built, Buick Will Build Them.”

“Buick stands first and last and always for reliability” and “No Car Is More Acceptable To Most People Than A Buick.”
