Artist's Description

A digital creation using photographs, filters, etc.

Although the young woman in my image has passed on, she continues to watch over her one true love from another dimension.

I thought the words from this old Broadway musical fit the image. I’ll Be Seeing You" is a popular song from the Broadway musical Right This Way. The song was published in 1938. Its music was written by Sammy Fain, the lyrics by Irving Kahal.

I’ll be seeing you;
In all the old, familiar places;
That this heart of mine embraces;
All day through.

In that small cafe;
The park across the way;
The children’s carousel;
The chestnut tree;
The wishing well.

I’ll be seeing you;
In every lovely, summer’s day;
And everything that’s bright and gay;
I’ll always think of you that way;
I’ll find you in the morning sun;
And when the night is new;
I’ll be looking at the moon;
But I’ll be seeing you.

The song was featured throughout the 1944 movie also titled I’ll be Seeing You, starring Ginger Rogers and Joseph Cotten, the recording by Bing Crosby became a hit that year, being number one for the week of July 8. In 1956. The song has been recorded over the years by many artists such as Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughan, Elliot Cass, Liza Minnelli and many others.
