Artist's Description

Remember the days of the flower children and the hippies? They were far out, man. Their vehicles were covered with flowers, they had long hair and lived in communes. I’m revisiting those days with these floral decorated cars. I never became a part of the hippie movement but always said that when I retired I would let my hair grow long and paint flowers on my car. Lol. A hippie (or hippy) was a member of a subculture that was originally a youth movement that emerged in the United States during the mid-1960s and spread to other countries around the world. They had a core belief revolving around the values of peace and love as being essential in an increasingly globalized society. A hippie was usually a young person in the 1960s and 1970s who rejected established social customs (such as by dressing in an unusual way or living in a commune) and who opposed violence and war.
