A huge tabular iceberg protrudes from the sea ice about the height of a 10 story building, Ross Sea, Antarctica. About 6 to 7 times more is below the ocean. The sun in the middle of the night during 24 hour sunlight creates a perfectly dramatic seascape. Such tabular icebergs are new, that is less than 1 year old, having recently calved from the glaciers, or the ice tongues or the Ross Ice Shelf. Photographed at about 1am.
