A pair of sub-adult bull elephants, having left their matriarchal herd, now test each other at a waterhole, while they find their way without the guidance of the experienced females. It is reported that a good proportion of these young males, who are often brash, die before reaching full adulthood. As fully mature males they will live solitary lives except for joining up with a herd for mating.
Elephants are considered vulnerable to endangered due to habitat destruction and human interferance.
