Artist's Description

A lone African lion, Panthera leo krugeri, female, crossing the land, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, East Africa. Lions are now endangered. About 30 years ago there were about 400,000 across Africa, now the population is estimated to be about 20,000 and decreasing. This individual is wearing a radio collar so is part of a lion study.
