Cardiocentric

We entered the room with our hearts branching down our limbs,
seething and pulsing… warm milk drenched us, old-fashioned, like home.
Our toes pressed into the ground, gravity reminded us where we stood,
But feeling lips like yours, defiance of the laws was inevitable.
As we gazed naked and soaked in essence, I’m swallowed in your flesh.
Your tender tendrils, your pulsing digits, they’d comb out the knots,
While my withered hands, would knead out the week’s labor.
