Artist's Description

Nobody Knows the Trouble—I Have Seen: Yet I still
Dream of Peace

Saved in my documents folder under the title: The Day A Soldier Needed Help The Day A Ranger Needed Help The Day Our World Our Country Our State Our Family My Day
Photographed from my front porch in the Hilltop neighborhood, Tacoma, Washington, USA, color digital photograph, New Year’s Day, January 1, 2012
Canon Poweshot A3100IS handheld 2 (two) images combined into one

1) First image from my backyard of an airplane bringing the soldiers home from war to Joint Base Lewis McChord in Tacoma, Washington (yes, maybe that plane was bring something else that day but more than likely these days that plane was carrying our brave men and women home from war—that is what I want to believe because I see and hear the airplanes fly over my house almost every day)

2) Second image from my front porch of Mount Rainier on the day the morning of the new year New Year’s Day, 2012 when I awoke to find out that a soldier from our war in Operation Iraqi Freedom had taken the life of an innocent person, a park ranger working in Mt. Rainer which I can see from my porch, my husband and I knew some of them too and just to know that someone is gone from our life, from our world because a soldier came home hurts so much

Let us all feel something and consider something to try to find hope for us all so we can build our community here and now please

I believe in all of us today
