My portrait today is of Madeleine Albright

I created this portrait of her because she inspired me for her strength, her perseverance and her determination.

I included her pin that she wore during her talk on TED.
The pin she said represents and is called "Breaking the Glass Ceiling”.

My portrait of her is my attempt to show to you why it is I admire her, how I feel about her because to me she is a tornado.

She is a force of energy working on behalf of global women issues.

I truly admire Madeleine Albright.

I love her saying and I think of it often, “There is a special place in Hell for women who don’t help each other.”

She said this because of her belief that a woman’s middle name is guilt and that we need to help each other. I agree with her.

Madeleine Albright: On being a woman and a diplomat

About this talk

“Former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright talks bluntly about politics and diplomacy, making the case that women’s issues deserve a place at the center of foreign policy.

‘Far from being a “soft” issue, she says, women’s issues are often the very hardest ones, dealing directly with life and death. A frank and funny Q&A with Pat Mitchell from the Paley Center.

About Madeleine Albright

’Since leaving office as US Secretary of State in 2001, Madeleine Albright has continued her distinguished career in foreign affairs as a businesswoman, political adviser and professor."
