FEATURED in the Back In Black Group November 2019————————-

I captured this image of four women within one frame using a Holga camera which gives the option to capture multiple images within one frame. This black and white photograph was taken in Seattle, Washington, USA while I was walking from the Seattle Center and passed by a garage sale where there was on the steps leading to the house a few plaster casts of women’s faces at various stages of aging and a framed photograph of a young woman.

I photographed all four as they were located on the steps because in my mind’s eye I envisioned exactly what I received from the camera that day.

The image a young woman looking up wondering what the future held for her and how she may look in the future and how she may be in the future, what was she as a human being going to be? Was she going to be sad and alone, bitter? Was she going to be dignified? Was she going to be rich with friends, good health and love?

The steps to me are very symbolic as well because it is what we are all doing right now, going through the steps towards our immortality and the steps we take to learn how to be who we want to be and who the steps that must be taken to reach our true self.

The digital art comes into play because I played with the hair at the top of the frame and gave the eyes of the young woman a burst of starlight.
