Sequential Lament

After a thousand years, I look up
And I see a great multitude of emotions
Gripping the hearts of men like hooks
Demons climb the ropes attached to them
For another thousand years, they bring down
Boys and girls alike without any sympathy
Before a thousand eyes blinking like polluted starlight
And a great scarcity of just demands
Exact and hellish like a skillfully weilded whip
Garish as the over-confident athlete of the mind
“Catch me!” the overfed child gurgles as he leaps
Crowds form to witness the spectacle of a smashed father
But nobody in particular learns anything
From it
Although many have seen my hands
Darkness shrouds their true business
Doubt covers their alterior motives
Caught like a disease, I let my humors
Grow on my friends’ minds like moss
Beneath a boulder by a river in
England
Extreme measures call for extreme times
Desperate housewives make for
Asinine society and defunct tradition
Completion comes not from good but
From whatever feels good
Finite math mixed with infinite distress
Engenders nothing more than a sense of hopelessness
Bipolar lives representing the chaos and
Disorder of a faithless life consistently fail to
Give me anything more than sarcasm
Give me something more than cynicism
Find out who defines you – it’s not you
Christ hasn’t left a schism – He hasn’t even left
Expect great things in the near future – I hear He’s returning to it to rule in length.
