House Wren – Troglodytes aedon

“Lost yesterday, somewhere between sunrise and sunset, two golden hours, each set with sixty diamond minutes. No reward is offered, for they are gone forever.” __Horace Mann

The House Wren’s song is a cheery, whistley cascade of notes that seem to go on and on and on. So little and yet, so long a sweet a song. They are found spring through fall over much of the state except for the higher mountains and treeless plains.
This is the first year they have selected to visit here and have their young.

Grayish-brown with paler undersides; faint barring pattern on plumage; faint eyebrows snd only about 4 and 3/4 inches.

Olympus E-520 – Zuiko lens 70-300,
f/5.2, ISO 400, 300 mm, hand held.
