I started being serious about photography back in 1996, but my interest started about 12 years earlier when a family friend lent me his Praktika 35mm camera [which had been stolen from a German soldier during WW2.]

For my first 15 years “behind the camera” I predominantly worked with black & white film with a preference for old architecture and landscapes, but now I am diving into the joys of digital-film, working with colour and capturing portraits of the interesting people I meet.

I am addicted to globe-trotting, meeting new people, diving into new and strange cultures and experiencing the natural beauty that this blue-green planet has
in abundance.

So far, I have been to:

  1. Canada [Vancouver Island, Highway1, and Golden BC].
  2. East Coast USA [New York, Boston, Maine/New England Region].
  3. West Coast USA [San Francisco, Big Sur, Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon].
  4. England [London].
  5. Spain [Barcelona, Northeast Coast].
  6. France [Langeudoc/Southeast Region, Cote D’azur].
  7. Italy [Genoa, Florence, Rome].
  8. Hong Kong.
  9. Jordan [Petra, Jerash, Wadi Rum].
  10. China [Chengdu, Xi’an].

The two people who have been most influential for me in photography are my Aunt Marilyn for inspiring me to buy my first camera, and the Australian Master of Photography – Ruby Spowart for teaching me about Black & White photography.

My weapon of choice? … The Sony SLT A99 matched with the stunningly hot Carl Ziess 85mm f1.4 portrait lens!

Counting down to the end...

I have decided to stop and smell the roses, probably because there is something else in here that doesn’t smell like roses, and I have been smelling it for far too long now. / I will no longer support RedBubble by providing “Welcome Baskets” to new members, by helping members to post images and improve their journals with pictures etc. I certainly wont be helping anyone with cop…
