The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress dropped more bombs (500,000 lbs) than any other US aircraft during WWII. Equipped with the Norden bombsight (in the middle of the image) it was used for daylight precision strategic bombing over Europe and Japan during the war. This image is of the bombardiers station in a B-17F used as an opperational aircraft in air shows throughout the States. Photo taken a Tacoma Airport in Washington State.
