Artist's Description

1954 was a year of significant design changes for the Chevrolet truck. The windshield was redesigned as a curved one-piece glass without a center vertical dividing strip. The steering wheel and dashboard were revised. The taillights became round instead of rectangular. The cargo bed rails, previously angled, are now horizontal. One of the most notable revisions was the grille. No longer was the grille five horizontal slats, but rather a crossbar design referred to as a “T” or “bull nose” grille. There was a large custom package offered for this year model. One of the custom changes, as shown on this truck, was the five window cab. In addition to the small rear window, two “Nu-Vue” curved side windows are included. Special thanks to the owners, Johnny and Jo Anna Duncan, for allowing me to photograph this classic truck.
