Gone but not Forgotten

I wonder how the pack has fared
Out at night alone
Have they all enjoyed themselves
Can they find their way home?

Are they lost in ancient Prague
Adrift despite they’ve paddled
No, homing pigeons to a man
Even if they’re addled.

I expect unsteady gait
A degree of raucous laughter
Many tales of derring do
Not much remembered after.

And in the morning, breakfast
Yawns and lack of ease
Hang dog looks and coffee black
But it was the best Chinese!
