Sick Lethargy

I feel at something of a loss
Of how to spend my day
Every time a thought flips in it
It quickly goes away

My concentration sadly lacks
The will to stay the course
And so I try but dip and trip
But nothing has much force.

Perhaps the sweat upon my brow
Gives truth to what I feel
That application have I none
Whilst strapped upon this wheel.

I’ll summon deep resources now
And put my mind at ease
To go next door and light the fire
Is something that would please.

So perhaps the next few hours
Will slowly pass away
An afternoon of flame and box
To hold me in their sway.
