Early Winter Too

As silver beams rush from on high
To counter cold and damp
The reds and greens and golds display
All of Autumn’s finery

All around us shimmers
Bathed and cleansed
From natures cruel grasp
And Spring is but a blink away

The stores to keep us now will hold
Through the fiercest spate
And warmed by feathers, fur or fire
The world waits peacefully for the budding

Early Winter Too
