Caveman to Braveman

In the days when skins were quite the thing
Did a cavemen have much choice
About his nether wear
I do suspect that what they did
Was to dingle dangle there

But modern times are now with us
I am beset with choice
Enough to bring me to a tear
Deprive me of my voice
And give rise to some primeval fear

It started off with innocence when Y fronts
Ruled my life O.K.
And then I took to wearing ‘pants’ I’m not ashamed to say
Sometimes when new such brilliant white
But often turning grey

For many years they served me well
And in many a different hue
Particularly white or black or maybe even blue
Depending on my mood that day
But never with the hole in front to go escaping through

Now I am completely lost when faced with choice galore
There’s jockeys, briefs and shorts and many many more
To tempt me from my ways
Not to mention boxers, thongs and others
My mind begins to glaze

Perhaps this has become too much for me
Although I’ve tried them all at last
Sometimes I look back in despair
And wish for times now past
To be free to dingle dangle there
