Artist's Description

A crucial aspect of these ‘edged’ patterns is that they are almost but not quite symmetrical. This is important, to me at least, because I am trying to represent the nature of ‘Nature’ itself where so many things appear quite symmetrical at first glance but on further investigation are anything but.
Visit my UK web site at:
and find the Search box (click on the Cornucopia button) and paste CEM-Colour-002 into it to see my own face displayed as perfectly symmetrical – it’s not pretty!
Like the majority of people in the world I come from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds; Saxon, Angle, Viking, Celt (a little Roman?) – as are many of the people who call themselves English. I also have Indian in my genes and Irish. I married a Welshman (part English & Cornish) so my two sons are even richer in their makeup.
I’m proud to think of how many people from across the globe have come together to make us all and these images are from the wellspring of my subconscious – a celebration that it’s more important to be human, to be related to everyone else who walks the Earth today, rather than just belonging to one country.
New and very different images, inspired by the multiple influences that make ME are already taking shape & I hope you enjoy them, all of you.
